The Real-time data team is responsible for providing integrated, trusted and timely data from which reporting and analytics can be performed in several digital monitoring and surveillance products. To lead the transformation, Shell formed the Real Time Data Center of Excellence (commonly known as PI-CoE), a team of knowledgeable and talented engineers who work closely with Aveva to architect the company's global data infrastructure. Shell has hundreds of millions of sensors and instruments, in millions of pieces of equipment, in thousands of sections, in hundreds of its assets, all spitting out data at ultra high frequency. It requires a specialized real-time angle to data-streaming and data-engineering to put that data to use and value. We, the real-time data team, deliver E2E real-time data services and solutions. The biggest benefit of real-time data processing is instantaneous results from input data that ensures everything is up to date.
