DynAMo™ is a software suite from Honeywell® that supports effective Alarm Management work processes, to reduce unplanned outages and safety incidents. Alarm Management supports a continuously effective and efficient alarm system that is critical to support the business process and provides the following benefits: ​Ensures an efficient and usable alarm system; Identifies safety-related issues, consequences, and corrective actions; Monitors and Improves system performance; and Reduces overall cost of ownership​.

DynAMo Functionality

• Shell's Reference Architecture implements two of the three DynAMo modules: Documentation and Enforcement; and Metrics and Reporting.
  • Documentation and Enforcement is designed to store alarm configuration in a master alarm database (MAD), audit changes, confirm alarm design and identify differences between the current configuration and engineered design. The Enforcement function has three phases: detect, review/approve and (optionally) correct. Many customers manually correct the small number of discrepancies using their own work process.
  • Metrics and Reporting is an reporting and analysis tool that helps to optimize alarm performance. It collects alarm and event data from the local automation system(s) and stores the raw data and appropriate industry KPIs. It includes off-the-shelf web-based performance reports that give an accurate snapshot of current alarm function performance. Additionally, the same event data can be used for alarm analytics and troubleshooting of specific operator concerns.​

Deployments

DynAMo has been deployed to all Downstream businesses and several Upstream and Integrated Gas locations. Site adoption has risen to over 30 deployments. P&T is in the middle of a multi-year project to roll-out new deployments across the globe. During 2023, new installations will be delivered at Argentina, BLNG, LNG Canada, Hazira LNG and Oman Gas; and asset expansions are underway for Gulf Of Mexico (Auger, Stones, Ursa, Vito), SBRASEP (BC-10) and NAM On-Shore (Botlek, Gaag, Middelie).
