SITUATION / Business REQUIREMENT / CHALLENGE

• There was a need for single global system across all relevant shell business for managing environmental performance data.
• The system should also enable preparations for GHG audits with change log and improved visibility into the underlying calculations for GHG emission data.
• Functional models/Hierarchy designs of Assets must be built to enable reporting of granular level environmental performance data as per local regulatory guidelines

RESULTS DELIVERED

• Function Hierarchy built in collaboration with asset and various sources of data like SPI, SAP…
• Calculations for GHG emissions are built in PI AF and sent to SAP EC for Validation, Visualization and Reporting purposes.

Key achievement – The Functional Model/Hierarchy built for the assets is not only being used for SERS but also consumed by other applications serving as central hierarchy for asset.
Estimated Value Generation in USD: The DS benefits are perceived to be stronger by central HSSE than by DS business. Non-monetary benefits are recognized by all businesses (e.g., reputation, environment).
