Lines of Businesses in Shell needed a faster/seamless access to real-time data irrespective of technology sources (e.g., IoT, mobile devices, SCADA, DCS, Historians etc.) across multiple platforms (on premise and cloud) to accelerate digital transformation.

OUR STRATEGY

• Developed and deployed the Monitoring Data Foundation (MDF) with the following key capabilities to solve the business problem
• Flexible interface that can handle multiple hierarchies (asset structure mapping) from different sources and transform to a single output for the user to compute models
• Data foundation integration layer sharing of technology driven insights with data platforms such as AIF/CIF and Digital Twin

RESULTS DELIVERED

• The successful release of Monitoring Data Foundation (MDF) has helped in the simplification of Proactive Technical Monitoring and enabled the decommissioning of legacy Smart Solutions IT Platform, directly resulting in a cost savings.
• Additional benefits in the very near future include the seamless integration of emerging digital technologies in conventional and renewable energy business and the acceleration of Asset of the Future program by using consistent quality data for consuming applications.
